Her life was broken into a thousand pieces, but the cellphone, remarkably, was still intact.

This is a quote by Gage Edward's mother. Gage Edwards was the star of his high school's football team. On January 31 at 1:43 pm, Gage read a text written by his mother which caused him to run off the road's shoulder.  Unfortunately this was a fatal text and Gage died on that day. Gage was admired by his family, friends, and even his opponents. Gage's death caused a void in the community.

This is the worst thing I've ever been through. I'll never get her back. I'll see her again, but I'll never get her back again. I don't want anybody else to go through this.

Camryn's mother was checking her daughter's location on an average Thursday night. She became worried when her location was not moving and assumed her daughter had broken down. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Camryn had crashed into a tractor trailer due to texting and driving. Since the fatal crash, her mother has become an advocate for texting and driving. She wants to use her daughter's car as a symbol against distacted driving.

... the kids think they're invincible. To them, (texting) is not distracting, they're so proficient at texting, that they don't feel it's distracted driving."

Taylor Sauer was making a four hour drive to Utah State to visit family. While driving on the I-84, Taylor was Facebook messaging a friend about football. Right before her fatal crash, Taylor sent this to her friend, "I can't discuss this now. Driving and facebooking is not safe! Haha." After sending this message, Taylor ran into a tanker truck going over 80 mph. Since Taylor's death, her family has used her case to try to change state legislation regarding texting and driving.
